Cook Children’s Medical Center – Ft. Worth
Cook Children’s Medical Center has also been able to provide its patients with opportunities for therapeutic music expression. Thanks to KidLinks, the hospital has a licensed music therapist on staff that uses music therapy as a therapeutic modality for self expression and mental/physical rehabilitation.
The funding has also allowed for the services of a home health Childlife Specialist. The specialist provides continuity of care after the child leaves the hospital – emotional support, training for living with a chronic condition, therapeutic play, and creative expression. The specialist also educates and emotionally prepares families for upcoming procedures and hospital stays.
